Jeff Jarrett vs. Chyna from the No Mercy PPV event of 1999 was one of the most groundbreaking moments in professional wrestling history. The match was scheduled for the WWE IC Championship and this was the first time a woman won the WWE IC title.
Chyna won the WWE IC title two times in total. The second time she won the title was from Val Venis and the match took place in Summerslam 2000. Chyna is the only woman wrestler in WWE history to win the Intercontinental Championship. She was even booked once to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship too.

Jeff Jarrett On Her Feud With Chyna From 1999
The treatment Chyna received from WWE was never been given to any woman in the history of the World Wrestling Entertainment. But it was not very easy for her to earn such precious victories. Wrestlers did not want to job to a woman back then and it was also rumored that Jeff Jarrett did not want to drop the IC title to Chyna.

Recently the former six times NWA World Heavyweight Champion appeared on the Insight With Chris Van Vliet where he spoke about that infamous incident. He said;
“It’s like any promotor, Vince had to have faith in me. At the end of the day, he’s been around longer than I have. If I didn’t do it, so what? There’s tomorrow’s RAW to fix that. I’m banking on the odds that he has faith in me. The following day he took his company public. You can talk about WrestleMania and you can talk about Summerslam, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the day he went public. He built a 3rd generation business. He spent 16 weeks in 1999 saying he was going to take a professional wrestling company public.”

It is said that it was one of the reasons behind Jarrett’s bad blood with WWE. Even though Jarrett does not accept this, we can never know what was real. Rumor also has it that wrestlers like Chris Jericho and Val Venis did not want to job to Chyna either.
