Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett who is a former four times WCW World Heavyweight champion recently talked about hitting the former 6 times TNA Heavyweight Champion of the World Kurt Angle with a chair in TNA.

The guitar was a signature object of Jeff Jarrett that was used by him throughout his career. But the fun part is he never used the guitar as a musical instrument. It was more of a weapon for him. The wrestler that used a guitar as his signature object before was the Honky Tonk Man. Even though the guitar was the musical object for the longest reigning Intercontinental champion in WWE history.

Jeff Jarrett On Hitting Kurt Angle With Guitar

Signing Kurt Angle for TNA Wrestling was one of the boldest moves ever made by the promotion. He was one of the highest paid wrestlers of the promotion and definitely a huge attraction. When the promotion signed Kurt Angle we have already signed so the biggest names of professional wrestling back in the time such as Sting, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and more. In the upcoming years they were able to sign the likes of Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Hulk Hogan and Booker T. TNA was doing really good back in that time.

But even after signing so many big names they could not compete with WWE because of one simple reason; they relied more on made up stars but creating big stars themselves. There were a very few name that this promotion actually created themselves, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are to name a few. Signing Kurt Angle for the promotion was the Revolutionary move. It actually gave them a stand to compete with WWE. Even though they failed but they managed to survive ultimately.

“There was a series with me and Kurt Angle. We were going at it. Man, for whatever reason — he has a great target, a nice, bald head, he’s easy, he doesn’t mind pain whatsoever — there were two or three in a row several weeks apart.

“I busted him open two or three consecutive times. It happens. I’ve been hit by my own guitar a couple of times, so I feel the pain. It has happened more than you’d think that, ‘Man, that was a pretty stiff shot.’ It happens. As they say, it’s not ballet.

“Chuck Norris is from Texas. Survivor Series was in San Antonio. Somehow, someway — I’m not sure if I volunteered or if I got the short straw and was the young guy on the team. I’ve always taken it with a badge of honor and maybe I was an idiot at times.

“I had no problem doing it. He obviously knows how to throw a kick and he put it right in there. Oh, it landed. It landed. If it had caught me in the throat, that would have been the end of the story. It was right square on the chest, exactly where Chuck wanted to place it. I’ll say that.”
