Professional wrestling legend and multiple professional wrestling award winner Jim Cornette who is a Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Famer recently shared his opinion on what Vince McMahon should do to improve his television ratings.
The TV ratings of WWE used to be on its peak during the Attitude Era. The ratings war was one of the most entertaining things to to look at after every Monday when the Monday Night Wars was on. Every week WWE Monday night RAW and WCW Monday Nitro competed for television ratings.

Jim Cornette On What Suggestions He Would Give To Improve WWE Ratings
When it all started it was all WCW’s game. But slowly WWE turned the dial to their side and after january 1999, WCW could never capitalise on ratings and could never beat WWE ever again and byy 2001 the promotion was closed.
But after Attitude Era, when WWE entered the Ruthless Aggression era, they could never reach the same height in ratings as they had during the Attitude Era. Although WWE tried their best to keep the ratings steady but it never happened.
With time the TV ratings started to decrease and there are a lot of reasons behind it. We can talk about that in a different story. The TV ratings that the Attitude Era had could never be restored, no matter what WWE does. It is a harsh reality.

But WWE finally has a new competition in market, the AEW which is getting better and better week after week. And WWE’s television product quite weak comparing to the product of AEW. WWE is not giving enough on improving the TV ratings either. Something quite strange is going on in WWE.
They are failing to produce good storylines, good shows or even good matches. On the other hand there newest rival is doing it all perfectly. WWE did change the product of NXT and it is being believed that they did it to compete with AEW Dark. This rivalry would be really interesting to look at in future and it is really good for the world of professional wrestling.
Jim Cornette who is a Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Famer recently spoke to Drive Thru podcast where he shared his opinion on what Vince McMahon should do to improve his television ratings. He said;

“The advice that I would give him to make a better wrestling product would probably be the antithesis of what the homogenised and pasteurised entity in corporate America that is going to purchase this thing and turn it into a Cirque Du Soleil theme park would want to begin with.”
“They don’t care about what wrestling fans want to see, and they somewhat consider themselves the only game in town, which they used to be and still are on a worldwide basis, and they are not going to change it. To change it would offend some sponsors and was real enough that someone got upset, or someone said something that they shouldn’t say.”
“It would be to fire three-quarters of the creative team and just let the boys find some guys that can do their own sh*t and just let them do it. But they don’t want to do any of that stuff that would make it easier for wrestling fans to watch. They have I guess cornered the market on the amount of people that are going to watch boring sports entertainment, and they are serving those people well.”
