Professional wrestling legend Jim Ross who is currently working as a live commentator for the newly founded professional wrestling promotion the All Elite Wrestling recently reflected on the “Kiss My A** Club” of Vince McMahon. He talked about the impact of this angle.

“Kiss My A**” angle was one of the most controversial angles of WWE and it is also one of the most criticised angles in sports entertainment. A lot of professional wrestling critics explain it as one of the most disgusting angles of professional wrestling history. Vince McMahon has been vastly criticised by a lot of critics and fans. However a lot of fans and critics also loved this angle who always had praises for this notorious angle.

Jim Ross Comments On “Kiss My A** Club” Angle Of Vince McMahon

In this angle, A certain number of wrestlers and professional wrestling personnels were forced to kiss the bare arse of Vince McMahon. It definitely sounds disgusting but back then it was one of the most famous angles among the fans. It was started back in 2001 and the first person to join the club was professional wrestling Legend William Regal. He was punished for joining the alliance against WWE.

Just after one week, Vince McMahon forced Jim Ross to join the club. The angle disappeared after this until it returned in 2006 when Shawn Michaels was forced to join the club during the Heart Break Kid had a feud with the McMahons. Next was Shane McMahon who was the only person on this list who was not intended to join the club.

It was Shawn Michaels who was the scheduled to do it once again but Michaels shoved Shane’s face which Vince McMahon did not notice at first. Next it was Mick Foley on the same year. And in 2008 it was the Hornswoggle who joined the club. After that the angle never returned since it was not suitable for the PG audience.

Jim Ross who is currently working as a live commentator for the newly founded professional wrestling promotion the All Elite Wrestling recently spoke on his Grilling JR podcast where he reflected on the “Kiss My A** Club” of Vince McMahon. He talked about the impact of this angle. He said;

“To be honest with you, I should have had a better attitude going into this thing.  Now in my later years, I certainly would, but you know, you’re younger.  That was 20 years ago.  I was 49 years old, so I was a little bit more defiant, a little bit more contentious, but I shouldn’t have been.  That just sold it to Vince’s pleasure.  I should have done it without any boo boo face, but I didn’t, and that’s my fault.  I’ll take full responsibility for that.

“I wish I would have taken it more like a seasoned pro and not been a crybaby.  It wasn’t just me, I didn’t understand it.  I learned to understand it.  Vince was just trying to get heat on himself so that he could rekindle a group so that everybody that Vince touches, whether it be Regal, The Dudleys, or whomever, are going to mean more because Mr. McMahon has blessed them and he has all this heat.”
