Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross who is currently working as a colour commentator in the All Elite Wrestling recently talked about the former three times AEW World champion Jon Moxley, he compared him with professional wrestling Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Jon Moxley is currently one of the biggest names in the AEW and a lot of fans are also considering him as the saviour of the promotion. Last year it was looking like that the new promotion has a huge advantage over there biggest Rivals, WWE after signing the likes of Bryan Danielson and CM Punk. But everything turned into a huge mess, neither they could utilize Bryan properly, nor Punk came out to be very friendly.

After the takeover of Triple H, WWE had been doing really good. They have brought back some of their biggest names, they are producing better storylines and feuds. It is finally looking like that they have a big advantage over there Rivals. On the other hand, AEW had been struggling lately, in spite of having a stacked roster. After lots of backstage issues, it was seeming like that the promotion is the falling through.

But there is only one man in AEW who is fighting to complete with the Mighty WWE, and that is Jon Moxley who himself is a former WWE champion. The only person that is still making AEW worth watching. During the Monday Night Wars, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the biggest to soldier of WWE against WCW. We are not hoping to see such a drama here, but kudos to Moxley for everything he did so far.

Jim Ross who is currently working as a colour commentator in the All Elite Wrestling recently spoke on his Grillin JR podcast where he talked about the current and three times AEW World champion Jon Moxley, he compared him with professional wrestling Legend Stone Cold Steve Austin. He said;

“I made two comments (on Twitter), one, I took a screenshot of my TV with Bryan Danielson on it, and the more I get him on my TV, the more I like it. Everybody complimented that. I did another one, later on, just following the show, and it was during a Jon Moxley offensive frenzy; strikes, strikes, strikes, assault.

“All I said was, ‘Jon Moxley is Austin-esque.’ I should have probably said, ‘at this moment’ or ‘tonight’ or ‘during this offensive onslaught’ or something like that. I caught so much shit from fans. They want to make sure you see it, so they tag you and think you might react to them. It’s funny.

“I thought it was a compliment to Moxley and it was a compliment I meant. His game does remind me of Austin’s at times. Am I saying that he’s going to be better or greater than Austin? I don’t know that anybody will ever be as great as Stone Cold when he was at his peak. He’s still my favorite guy.

“I just thought there were pieces of Moxley’s game, surrounding his aggression and tenacity, that reminds me of Steve. That’s all I said. Then you get shit for it because someone didn’t agree with you or they think you’re putting Austin down. Just because you compliment someone doesn’t mean you’re knocking somebody else.”
