When Edge cashed in his money in the bank contract successfully in 2006, it was pretty shocking back then. Since it was the first money in the Bank cash-in, nobody ever has seen such a thing before. And the concept of money in the bank was yet to be cleared to the fans. There could be no better example than the practical one we mentioned here.
The impact of the cash in of the first ever Money in the Bank was so huge that it became really famous, and right now it is one of the most favorite match types among the fans in the WWE. Later in the year, it became so famous that they decided to cut money in the bank from WrestleMania and make PPV named Money in the Bank.

Jim Ross On First Money In The Bank Cash In By Edge
The good old Jim Ross recently looked back as this famous incident from 2006 at the grilling Jr. He said;
“It would the first time we really used the Money in the Bank concept, and it was historic in that respect based on where and how the stipulation has evolved over the years. But for Edge, winning his first title was huge. I’m sure if you asked him, he’d probably say that was one of the highlights of his career.

“To think he came from being an indie wrestler in Ontario making little or no money, and he and Christian signing with us for a developmental contract and training in the warehouse….. these two cats were very much students of the game. I would say the journey that Edge was on and then finally winning the title was significant. It was certainly significant for me because I was very proud of him.”

The first ever Money in the Bank cash-in was also remembered for being the first world title reign of Edge. Even though it was not a very long reign as John Cena regained his WWE Championship at Royal Rumble. No matter what the first ever Money in the Bank cash-in will always be remembered for its shocking presence.
