‘The Good Old’ Jim Ross is arguably the best commentator in professional wrestling history. Anything can come alive with Jim Ross’ commentary. Recently, he spoke on the important roles of Linda McMahon and Trish Stratus during the infamous match between Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon at WWE WrestleMania 17.

It was a classic WrestleMania match, it was nothing like a masterpiece or anything like that, but it was too entertaining because of its back story and build-up. The fans loved every bit of this match and its full build-up. The story of a perverted millionaire cheating on his wife for a young woman working under him and the poor wife not getting support from anyone – such a storyline was loved by the American audience.

Jim Ross Talks About Linda McMahon & Trish Stratus’ Role At WrestleMania X-Seven

Trish Stratus was not very famous back then played the role of the victim woman who did her part perfectly. And Linda McMahon also played her role quite well.

Jim Ross was the lead commentator of the event talked about Linda McMahon and Trish Stratus’ after twenty years. He said,

That’s what they wanted to see. It also showed just how much Vince was over. They wanted him to get his comeuppance, and they saw that Linda had been so wronged and Vince had disrespected her with this debacle of an affair that he let go public. I always used to kid Vince about it too, ‘How many times are you gonna kiss Trish tonight?’

But it got him more heat. People felt sorry for poor little Trish. She wasn’t that little Jezebel, she was being taken advantage of and abused in a verbal kind of way. Trish did her role very well, and it had to be an uncomfortable role. What precedents were there for her to be cast like she was cast? She pulled it off very well. She did a phenomenal job in that presentation.

The storyline became more interesting when the daughter preferred to be on her father’s side when the son Shane McMahon could not support his father’s evil works and announced a battle against him. From Trish Stratus’s turning face to Linda McMahon coming out of the coma, it was a classic performance throughout. We hope to see these types of storylines where families fight for silly things because these storylines are always pretty fun to see.
