Johnny Gargano On How NXT Can Increase Viewership

Former three times WWE NXT North American champion Johnny Gargano recently gave his opinion on how NXT could increase their viewership. Undoubtedly NXT is the best show of WWE right now, but it is suffering from low viewership in spite of being a great show.

The NXT gets aired on television on Tuesday, along with the All Elite Wrestling, and almost every week, AEW beats the NXT. AEW Dynamite is the prime show of the promotion, this must have been the biggest reason why it gets to beat NXT every week.

But WWE is trying to get NXT on top. They have done a lot of new things to beat AEW. They have introduced the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships recently. They even have introduced the Million Dollar Championship which is rumoured to be treated as the lower mid card title for the promotion.

As RAW and Smackdown does not have any competition they remain immune. But NXT is better than both of the prime shows of WWE any day. But in spite of being the best show of WWE, NXT is suffering from week viewership. A lot of fans believe that we worship of NXT will improve after the real crowd come back into the live shows.

Former WWE NXT champion Johnny Gargano recently spoke to Busted Open Radio where he recently gave his opinion on how NXT could increase their viewership. He said;

“We’ve gone after different niche crowds, and we’ve brought back Great American Bash and Halloween Havoc, which did immensely well. It did great. I think it just comes down to being able to tell long-term stories. Everyone knows me, I love Marvel movies and all that. I love being able to reward people for watching.

“You don’t ever want to feel like you’re wasting your time. You don’t want to tune in one week and then tune in the next week like, ‘Wait, what’s happening?’ You want to see a thread, you want to see a long-term story.

“I think that’s when NXT is at its best is when we’re capable of telling these long-term stories like me and Tommaso [Ciampa] and stories like Kyle [O’Reilly] and Adam [Cole]. If you’re able to tell these stories, that’s when you hook the audience and start building your viewership is when from week-to-week you’re rewarding the viewers for tuning in.”
