Kevin Owens is currently holding one half of the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship and he has earned almost all the possible championships in WWE. Apart from the new World Heavyweight title, Owens has won all the active men’s championships in WWE at this moment. He is considered the 16th Grand Slam Champion of WWE.
One of the most prestigious championships he got the opportunity to hold was the WWE Intercontinental Championship and he won this prestigious title two times. He got his first IC title reign back in 2015 and he won the second IC title in February 2016. Both of the championship reigns hold special meaning.
Kevin Owens Opens Up About Rare Intercontinental Title Achievement Tied to Owen Hart
Both of his IC title reigns combined up to 132 days and he is not the only WWE star who has a total of two IC title reigns with a total 132 days’ reign. The late great WWE legend Owen Hart also had the same record, which might have been a coincidence but it makes a tie between these two wrestlers.
Kevin Owens who is also a former WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion recently reminded everyone about this amazing record of him and the Canadian professional wrestler expressed his happiness about it. Speaking with the “Love Wrestling” podcast recently, the former three times WWE United States Champion said;

On how both he and Owen Hart held the Intercontinental Title twice for a combined 132 days: “It means a lot. It’s funny because I’d love to win the Intercontinental Championship back, but I also don’t want to break that similarity [with Owen]. I want to share with that Owen, you know? So, it’s a really conflicting feeling, but it’s really cool to have that for sure.”
On the Bret Hart vs. Diesel match at the 1995 Royal Rumble gravitating him towards Owens Hart: “I saw Bret trying to cheat [against Diesel], he wrapped cables around Diesel’s legs. At that point, I was a kid with morals. I was like, ‘What the hell is that?’ And then Owen came out to try and stop him.
At the time, I didn’t know the dynamics of the story. All I knew was Owen was the valiant younger brother who tried to stop his older brother from cheating. I immediately latched onto Owen, like, ‘He’s just like me. Bret’s like my big brother.’”
Owens is currently one of the most famous stars of WWE and he is working on the Tag Team division of the promotion along with his best friend Sami Zayn. This is the first time these two wrestlers are working as the Tag Team Champions in WWE and they are definitely two of the fan favourites. Hopefully, Owens earns more success in WWE.
