Proving the rumors true, WWE is bringing back the King of the Ring tournament from next week onwards where a superstar can claim himself to be the new king of the roster. In addition to the male division, the women’s division will also have a queen in them as a female version of the tournament will also go down. Instead of Queen of the Ring, this tourney has been named Queen’s Crown 2021.
A promo aired during Smackdown on FOX for both the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments during this week’s WWE Draft edition Night One. It was informed that matches for the tournaments will begin during next Friday’s SmackDown season premiere episode, airing live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The tournaments will then continue on the October 11 RAW from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

While the tourneys are expected to continue through the following episodes of Raw and Smackdown, we expect King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown 2021 finals to take place at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. Although, WWE hasn’t confirmed the same during their announcement. Rather, they have confirmed a Women’s Triple Threat Match for the Smackdown Women’s Title alongside the Universal Title Match.
King of the Ring was an annual tradition in WWE
King of the Ring tournament was a yearly tradition in Old School WWF in the late 1980s and the 1990s which was also held from 2000-2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2015. The tournament was then brought back in 2019 with Baron Corbin becoming the winner by defeating Chad Gable in the finals.
The 2015 King of the Ring event, won by Wade Barrett, was the last one to be hosted as a WWE Network or pay-per-view (the quarterfinals aired on RAW while the rest aired on the WWE Network) event. The 2019 tournament was hosted through various RAW and SmackDown episodes.

As for the Queen’s Crown tournament, it will be the first time that WWE’s female competitors will get to participate in the tradition. In case, the finals are announced for Crown Jewel then for the first time ever, a Saudi Arabia event will have two separate female division matches on the card.
The 2021 WWE Crown Jewel event will take place on Thursday, October 21 from The Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The confirmed, as well as the rumored matches, are given below
