Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle who is a six times World Champion in WWE and also a six times TNA World Heavyweight Champion recently addressed Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Benoit as two of the most physical opponents of his entire career.
The feuds between Kurt Angle along with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Benoit respectively are some of the best feuds in professional wrestling history. The feuds are not much talked about anymore but these were some of the Classic feuds from the Attitude Era. Angle’s feud with Chris Benoit continued even after the Attitude Era and lasted till the Ruthless Aggression era. All of these dudes are considered as wrestling classics.
Kurt Angle Addresses Steve Austin And Chris Benoit As His Most Physical Opponents
The official beginning of the feud between Angle and Stone Cold Steve Austin was a part of the invasion angle of WWE. Angle was a member of the team WWE and Stone Cold Steve Austin decided to betray WWE and joined forces with the Alliance.
At SummerSlam 2001, Austin was challenged by Angle for the title and Angle won by DQ. The next pay per view event was Unforgiven where Angle defeated Austin by submission to win the title. Angle dropped the title again at the next pay per view event which was No Mercy. The feud somehow ended after this match WWE mostly focused on ending the feud between Alliance and WWE.
Angle had to feuds with Chris Benoit during his WWE career. One was in 2001 which started at WrestleMania X-Seven and lasted for over two months. It was definitely one of the best feuds in WWE of the Year. The next few days took place in 2002 to 2003.
It started after the first brand extension of WWE and it ended at Royal Rumble pay per view event of 2003. In both occasions Angle came out victorious. It is quite unfortunate that such amazing feuds never got enough recognition.

“Yeah, him and Chris Benoit were the two most physical athletes I’ve ever faced in the ring. Austin was very physical. That’s the one thing about him that made him special. He was really intense. He kept the intensity up very high and he was very physical.
“I was comfortable being snug cause I was snug. That’s just one thing that I tried to work on, my finesse but there were times when I throw punches or kicks they’re gonna stick, they’re gonna hurt and Austin was the same way. So, I enjoyed that because in order to give it you have to be able to take it and I did.”
