Kurt Angle Looks Back At The WWE Version Of nWo In 2002

The stable was first created with three of the biggest stars of professional wrestling back in the time, Scott Hall Kevin Nash and of course Hulk Hogan who was the leader of the stable. WCW dominated tv ratings during the first half of the Monday Night Wars era and the biggest reason behind it considered by most of the wrestlers and pundits was nWo.

When WCW lost the war it was sold to WWE back in 2001. A lot of WCW stars and stables where is signed by WWE back in that time and in 2002 they signed nWo as well. Everybody thought nWo going to be a huge success in WWE but it could not succeed in fact it failed drastically.

There were a lot of reasons behind the failure of nWo in WWE. One of the main reasons behind it is WWE’s unwillingness to book the stable properly. WWE never wanted to make money out of nWo as they wanted to focus on their own prospects like they always do.

The injury of Kevin Nash during the time was a huge deal as well. WWE brought the stable WWE many times even after the time faded away for them but they could never become anything more than Hall of Famers in WWE.

Kurt Angle who is a former six times TNA World Heavyweight Champion and a six times World Champion in WWE recently spoke on his Kurt Angle Show at AdFreeShows.com where he look back at WWE bringing the nWo in 2002 and how it went down. He said;

“Well, there were mixed feelings, I think because of some things that occurred in the past. I don’t really know about them. I’ve heard some stories. But you know, the NWO, those guys could be really political, and it could bury some people’s careers. I never saw to be honest with you, but that was the rumor and the thought going around the locker room.

“Some guys were concerned. But for me, I wasn’t concerned because I was totally confident in my ability to wrestle. I knew I was one of the best wrestlers at this particular time, and I could entertain the fans. I was really good at doing what I did, and I wasn’t that concerned about Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash and Scott Hall coming in.”
