Kurt Angle is one of the best technical wrestlers that WWE has ever produced. Plus, he was one of the cornerstone figures for WWE’s Ruthless Aggression Era. Not to mention, he played a pivotal role for the company on TV after returning to the company in 2017 for a couple of years. Now that he is away from the WWE, the rumor is that he could be back in action.
The speculation was fuelled by Kurt Angle, himself in a recent tweet that was directed to another fellow WWE Legend who is rumored to make a comeback in due course. John Cena is reportedly making a return to WWE TV shows starting from the July 16 episode of Smackdown, per Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast. Plus, he is also likely to be a part of this year’s Summerslam in a mega match against Roman Reigns.

Kurt Angle not happy with his retirement from WWE
For those who have forgotten, Kurt Angle retired from professional wrestling in 2019 after losing a match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. Needless to mention, the IWC wasn’t happy with the way WWE arranged a lackluster send-off for one of the all-time greats on that night. A loss against a non-established heel superstar was unacceptable by many including Angle, himself.
As seen in recent photos from social media, Kurt Angle is looking in ripped shape who may be waiting for some good offers to be back in the competition. Since WWE would no longer be interested to sign him in an in-ring role, he’d look forward to competing in AEW or somewhere else.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently said the following on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast regarding an eventual return,
“I’m in the best shape of my life, but I’m not going to wrestle. I’m done with that. Shaquille O’Neal just texted me today and said, ‘You need to come to AEW’. I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that’. Actually, if I did wrestle again, it would most likely be for WWE, but I’m not going to do that,” Kurt Angle continued.
“AEW was always an option, I just never really considered it because I’m retired. I’ve heard the rumors. That’s what they are. They’re just rumors. People like to talk. They like to get excited about things, and, unfortunately, that’s not going to happen.”
