Kurt Angle Says That He Is In The Best Shape Of His Life, But He Would Not Wrestle

But this is not the first time WWE book such a match for a retiring wrestler. There are lot of big names in wrestling who received similar treatment from WWE before their retirement. Lita is being one of the prime examples of it. In most cases WWE does not give the proper treatment to a retiring wrestler, the reason remained unknown.

During his appearance on a recent edition of the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Kurt Angle Revealed that he is in the best shape of his life but he does not want to wrestle anymore. He said;

“I’m in the best shape of my life, but I’m not going to wrestle.  I’m done with that.  Shaquille O’Neal just texted me today and said, ‘You need to come to AEW.’  I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’  Actually, if I did wrestle again, it would be most likely for WWE, but I’m not going to do that.  AEW was always an option, I just never really considered it because I’m retired.  I’ve heard the rumors.  That’s what they are.  They’re just rumors.  People like to talk.  They like to get excited about things, and, unfortunately, that’s not going to happen.”

A lot of fans are still hopeful about a possible return of Kurt Angle. After he was released from WWE in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic budget cut, he has not been seen wrestling anywhere. We hope WWE rehire him and he would give some sporadic appearances. His backstage works were going well, hope he starts continuing it soon.
