WWE News: Lacey Evans Shares Incredible Experience From Saudi Arabia
One of the most promising talents on the WWE roster, Lacey Evans made history, last month. She competed in the first-ever women’s wrestling match to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
She faced Natalya in an unforgettable matchup that ended in a losing effort at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event.
Lacey Evans was extremely lucky to be part of this auspicious matchup. Speaking with Wrestlezone, she shared the historic experience from the show.
Being a mother herself, she could not be more proud of competing in this match where she got to be a role model for them. Millions of women around the world got to watch the matchup to experience something new.
“It was amazing to be able to represent this company which I love, to show the entire world what women are capable of, to help make change, especially as a mother with my daughter watching this take place, is motivating,” Lacey Evans said.
The Sassy Southern Belle had gone through an incredible career in the past that an ordinary woman can’t possibly think. She served for the US military before joining the WWE roster.
Only a few in the past have had such a unique combination in their careers. Mostly, the male superstars possess such accolades. From that perspective, Lacey Evans is a unique talent and Vince McMahon is extremely high on her.
Continuing the interview, Evans reflected on this aspect of his career,
“I’ve done a lot of things in my life that women statistically couldn’t do or shouldn’t do, or has been frowned upon too, and this was another one in the books for me to go out there and work my ass off like I do in everything in my life and show the world what women are capable of and open doors that people haven’t.”
Lacey Evans felt very blessed to be a part of the historic Crown Jewel match as there are a lot of bright talents available on the female roster of the WWE.
Her opponent Natalya is actually considered to be the most veteran athlete available in the female locker room of WWE.
The usual thinking was that another veteran name or a former Women’s Champion might accompany him in the ring.
However, The Boss considers Lacey Evans as a special talent who received the opportunity despite this one being the first year of her WWE career.
Here are more words from the future Women’s Champ who hoped more such opportunities down the road,
“We opened that door and the only thing I can hope is that people continue to go through those doors because WWE is a family-friendly and hard-working company.
When it comes to breaking barriers and showing what women can do. WWE highlights that and they are all for it and they push for that to happen. I was just very blessed to actually get to be a part of that, and worked hard to get there.”
