After remaining absent from WWE TV since February of 2021, Lacey Evans made quite a discussed return, earlier this year. To be exact, it was after Wrestlemania 38 that the charismatic superstar found her way back to the company, leaving her Sassy Southern Belle gimmick. She was rather trying to empower the WWE Universe with tough experiences in life.

In May, WWE announced that Lacey Evans will be returning to active competition which was eventually postponed. In the meantime, she was switched back to Smackdown, leaving the fans wondering what WWE creative team was actually willing to do with her. Also, after acting briefly as a babyface star, she was converted into a heel’s role.

Just when it seems that Lacey Evans was supposed to excel in that villainous category like before, she was suddenly taken off TV. On that night, she was booked to compete in a match against Aliyah but that never happened.

Once, WWE cameras caught her backstage, she cut a promo bragging about how the fans owe her for the work she’s done for the people of the USA,

“I am everything that every woman, man and American should be. They should not only stand up and cheer for me but they should kiss the ground that I walk on.”

Lacey Evans reportedly dealt with an undisclosed injury

From the following week onwards, Lacey Evans just vanished from our TV screen. WWE announced that she wasn’t medically cleared to compete. In an update from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, he also learned the same from the WWE officials. While inquiring the WWE about the top superstar’s absence, Sapp was again told that she was “medically sidelined.”

After having a decent run on NXT, Lacey Evans got the call to come to the main roster in earlier 2019. That year’s Royal Rumble marked her actual in-ring debut for her on the main roster. Following Wrestlemania 35, she challenged for the Raw Women’s Championship in a top feud with Becky Lynch. Moving on, she was also featured in a controversial storyline that saw her seduce legendary Ric Flair.

It was apparently a storyline to build a match against Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 37 but that never took place due to Lacey Evans getting pregnant. She took the time away from TV and since then, she’s yet to get a meaningful role on TV. The September 9 episode of Smackdown saw her performing in a Fatal-5-Way match and hopefully, WWE will have to offer something better for her from now onward.
