Despite coming from a non-wrestling background, Lana managed to establish a name for herself in the WWE as an in-ring performer. By working hard, she managed to cover up all the shortcomings and thereby stay with the company for almost a decade before getting released in June 2021.

To be precise, Lana was signed to the WWE in 2013 and spent eight years with the company. She mostly served as the manager for her husband Rusev, now known as Miro in All Elite Wrestling. Besides that, she also wrestled as a singles competitor in her tenure to fulfill her dream to be a champion but that goal of hers remains unfulfilled.

Lana’s first gimmick was “The Ravishing Russian” who used to manage and help her real-life husband Rusev in winning matches. Down the road, there’ve been times that villainous territory offended even Rusev as his wife got romantically involved with other WWE male superstars and even a female one.

During a recent appearance on the Last Word On Sports, the diva with the real-name CJ Perry also admitted that she particularly enjoyed “stirring the pot,” with “controversial” storylines. Remembering a particular timespan she also thanked WWE head honchos for the opportunities,

“I truly enjoyed the Russian run that we had and fighting John Cena at WrestleMania with our tank and Russian soldiers! That was such a fun, year-long story we had! I am forever grateful to Triple H and Vince to have given me the iconic opportunity to play as a Russian villain on TV.”

Lana could relate to the romantic storylines just like WWE fans

Moving on Lana added that she could relate to the WWE fanbase, she mostly during those romantic relationship storylines, because people can “genuinely connect” with the subject matter since one way or the other, most people go through such phases in life,

“Most people in their life fall in love a couple of times, go through heartbreak, and eventually, find room in their hearts to love again,”
