Legendary Trish Stratus had announced her retirement all the way back in 2006. It was on WWE Raw, the night after Unforgiven 2006 PPV event, that she hang up her boots, for good following the title win from her bestie, Lita in a match in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
But since that night, Trish Stratus has returned to WWE programming for one-off occasions to compete in several matches. While she competed in several Royal Rumble and battle royal matches in the past, some tag team matches and a dream match with Charlotte Flair, also went down. The fact that she keeps coming back certainly keeps the hope open to witness another dream match featuring the WWE Hall of Famer in the near future.

In a recent interview with Vibe 105 Sports, Trish Stratus talked about the current female roster of WWE, and Sasha Banks to be precise. For years now, Banks has been pushing for the match against Stratus to happen, echoing the demand of the WWE Universe. Now, the 7-times Women’s Champion also sounded positive from her side, affirming that there’s a possibility that the match could come together someday in the future.

“If you’re talking about the dream match that everyone talks about with Sasha Banks? Maybe you might be referring to that match?” Trish Stratus asked. “Or you might not be, maybe that’s what I’m referring to. She is an amazing athlete.”
“People sort of — they fantasize about that match because we had a little face-to-face at the women’s Royal Rumble. And who knows? That is appealing to me. I think she is a fantastic athlete. She has brought so much to the company, and has elevated the women in the industry from what she’s done.”
“I think fans would love to see that. I would love to whoop her butt and prove that I’m the best, and, you know, stuff like that,” Trish Stratus continued. “So yeah, let’s leave it with that little button and say, ‘Perhaps, one day, if I decide to go back in the ring, I mean, I may have to deliver a little Stratusfaction to The Boss.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Trish Stratus and Sasha banks had a face-off at the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018 and since then, the WWE fans have been buzzing about the match. In 2019, Charlotte Flair defeated Trish in Toronto in a singles contest which appeared to be a proper send-off for her. However, she seems ready to lace up the boots, again to entertain the WWE fans.
During the Crown Jewel 2021 preview show on WWE’s The Bump, panelist Ryan Pappolla put Sasha Banks in the hot seat when one fan asked, “When will we see Sasha Banks vs. Trish Stratus?” Banks, considered herself to be ready for the match while the legend was allegedly dodging her to get rid of the contest.
