Eric Bischoff is a legend of professional wrestling who worked in most of the major wrestling promotions throughout the years. WWE fans mostly remember him for his amazing run as the General Manager of Monday Night RAW after the introduction of the initial brand split of the promotion back in 2002.

Before joining WWE for the first time in 2002, he worked in WCW where he was one of the authority figures of the promotion. WCW was one of the major promotions in the world of professional wrestling throughout the 90s and it went on a direct clash with WWE during the time. The fans refer to it as the Monday Night Wars.

Ultimately, WCW failed to compete with WWE and by 2001 the promotion was declared bankrupt. Vince McMahon was the owner of WWE purchased WCW and the promotion was dead forever. A lot of WCW stars joined WWE and started working in the promotion. Eric Bischoff, who was a key figure of WCW also joined WWE in 2002.

WCW promoted some big stars like Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page during their prime time. They signed some big names from WWE as well. Bischoff recently admitted his mistake of not signing Ken Shamrock after he left WWE in 1999. Speaking on his 83 Weeks Podcast, Bischoff said;

Eric Bischoff Regrets Not Signing Ken Shamrock In WCW

“Shamrock may have never been interested in coming to WCW,” Bischoff said. “I just didn’t feel there was a hole in the roster for someone like him at that time.” Said the inaugural General Manager of Monday Night RAW.

“I kinda regret it, because he is, was, and still is a good character,” Bischoff stressed. “I’m a fan, you know, whatever I see in [the] interviews with him now, talking about MMA and documentaries about his past. Very impressive guy! I love his story, both he and his brother. I love the background of their story, and I wish I would have looked closer at him.” Concluded The WWE Hall of Famer.

Ken Shamrock was a famous name in the Mixed Martial Arts before joining WWE in 1997. WWE had really big plans for the former UFC stars as he accomplished multiple big achievements in WWE including the prestigious IC title, WWE Tag Team title and King of the Ring 1998. But after he was released by WWE in 1999, he could find much success in professional wrestling.
