This year’s WWE Hall of Fame featured five inductees in total, three of them were legendary wrestlers, one was on the celebrity wing and a warrior award recipient of course. Rey Mysterio is one of biggest wrestling legend who got inducted into this year’s HOF, along with The Great Muta and Stacy Keibler.
The original plans for this year’s HOF was a little different. WWE Legend Batista reveals that he was scheduled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame but during the time he was in Africa shooting for a film so he could not accept the invitation. While appearing in a recent video for “CoolKicks,” Batista revealed;

“I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall Of Fame, but I was on this film I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it.” Said the former six times WWE World Champion who was active in WWE throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era of the promotion.
Batista played the character of Leviathan in the OVW which was the development territory of WWE. In 2002, he was introduced to the main roster audience of WWE and soon after joining the main roster he became a member of the famous Evolution faction of Monday Night RAW.

Batista Could Not Accept Hall Of Fame This Year
By 2005, he established himself as a main event star of WWE. He won the Royal Rumble match of the mentioned year and challenged Triple H on the main event of WrestleMania 21 to defeat him to win the World Heavyweight Championship. He became a regular main eventer after that.
He remained active in WWE until 2010 and he kept on conquering the main event scene of WWE. But after that he stopped working regularly and established himself as a famous movie star. His Hollywood breakthrough was pretty impressive and he also became a part of the Marvel Universe.

He made some part time appearances in WWE. In 2014, he returned to WWE and won the Royal Rumble match, and was featured on the main event of WrestleMania XXX. He would have been inducted into the WWE hall of Fame earlier but the program was canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic.
