Maria Kanellis is one of the professional wrestlers who must be very happy with the news that Vince McMahon has given up his duties as the WWE Chairman and CEO. Stephanie McMahon is the newly appointed person in his position who will jointly oversee things with WWE President Nick Khan.
With Vince being gone from his position, there have been a lot of speculations about how the retirement of the greatest wrestling promoter could affect the landscape of the industry. When he was in charge of the WWE, many thought that the company was no more an option for them as they simply refused to work under McMahon’s principles. With Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in charge, those stances are likely to change in a big way.
Maria Kanellis could be one of them who has always been vocal about her thoughts on how things used to be run under the original boss of the WWE. She and her husband, Mike Bennett, spent almost three years with the WWE and their experience wasn’t that good. They have eventually been released as part of the mass COVID-19 releases in 2020 at a point when they were prepping up for becoming parents.

Maria Kanellis then claimed that McMahon’s departure could bring a positive impact on WWE and furthermore she could finally agree to make a return to the company. On that note, she was recently asked by a fan on Twitter if she would consider a return now that Sr. McMahon is fully gone.

Maria Kanellis looking for the rightmost opportunity for a WWE return
While answering the question on Twitter, Maria Kanellis said that she has a great relationship with Triple H and his team. So if Hunter and his team can offer the right opportunity at the right time then she would be open to listening to it,
“The wrestling world is wild right now. I always had a great working relationship with @TripleH and I know @RealMikeBennett liked his brief time in @WWENXT. The right opportunity is always timing meets talent. If it’s the right time, then it’s the right time.”

WWE COO Triple H previously boasted about WWE having the best women wrestlers in the world which garnered tons of backlash from various pro wrestlers including Maria Kanellis. While speaking to Inside The Ropes, the former WWE Superstar visibly disagreed with the statement by mentioning how there are a lot of wrestlers who don’t even want to work in WWE.
However, going by the above comments on Twitter, it’s certain that Maria Kanellis isn’t on bad terms with Triple H, at all, and time will tell whether she gets an intriguing offer for a WWE return. For the time being, she’s keeping in touch with Tony Khan about the Ring of Honor women’s division on how their status could be upped. At this stage, she’s literally a free agent not having many obligations with any wrestling promotion.
