Professional wrestling legend and former WWE star Matt Hardy who is a former 11 times Tag Team champion in WWE recently talked about the Best in the World CM Punk. He explained why he thought Punk is one of the best professional wrestlers of all time.
CM Punk was one of the biggest names of WWE during his time in the promotion. Before joining WWE he is spent some time in different promotions including TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor. In 2005 he joined WWE and started working in the Ohio Valley Wrestling which was the Development Territory of WWE back in the time.
Matt Hardy Thinks CM Punk Is One Of The Best Of All Time
In 2006 he came to the main roster for the first time and it was not very easy for him to earn the ultimate success in WWE. He was a fan favourite from the very first day of joining. He won the World Heavyweight Championship at the first time in 2008. He was also the first WWE star to win two back to back Money in the Bank ladder match.
Buy 2009 he became one of the biggest names of the promotion and soon he started a rivalry with John Cena. He is considered as one of the biggest rivals of John Cena who was the face of WWE back in the time. He won the WWE World Championship for a total number of 6 times including one ECW Championship reign.
In 2014 he surprised the whole world when he decided to leave WWE forever. He was not happy with the treatment from the management of WWE and he decided to quit the promotion after the Royal Rumble paper view event of the mentioned year.
He took over 7 years to return to the world of professional wrestling once again but he did not return to WWE, but in AEW, which is the biggest rival promotion of WWE right now. Currently he is one of the biggest attractions of the AEW.
Matt Hardy who is a former 11 times Tag Team champion in WWE recently spoke on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy where he talked about the Best in the World CM Punk. He explained why he thought Punk is one of the best professional wrestlers of all time. Matt Hardy said;
“For me personally, I’m happy to see Punk back in wrestling. I think CM Punk is just a fantastic pro wrestler. I feel like he belongs in pro wrestling. I give him all the credit in the world for venturing out into the UFC. That was amazing, I wouldn’t have done it even if I felt like I could have. I wouldn’t have been that brave or courageous. It took a lot of courage for him to do that.”
“But I’m happy he’s back in pro wrestling because I feel like when it comes to pro wrestling, that is just what he is built for. This is what he’s made for.”
“He’s one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. For him to come back to AEW and be happy, and once again be fueled by such great passion, and have this great program with MJF, and also write these love letters to the legends who kind of paved the way for him and all of us, I think it’s been great. Punk just seems like he’s very happy to be back, which is nice.”
“I know towards the end of his WWE run, he was just burned out and miserable. It is easy for that to happen to you in this industry, especially if you end up in a very weird space. So it’s great to see him back, relaxed, and passionate and really in love with pro wrestling again.”
