Melina was one of the several names who returned for the WWE women’s division match, back at Royal Rumble 2022. She made her entry at the number-two position followed by Sasha Banks to get the spotlight on her, unlike the other part-time returnees who got less limelight to shine.
However, Melina didn’t last long in the Rumble match who was quickly eliminated by Banks. But it didn’t leave any bitter feeling on the returnee rather she now wants to tangle in the ring with the name who eliminated her from The Rumble.

Taking to Instagram, Melina thanked The Dome at America’s Center for the warm welcome during The Rumble,
“Over 44k in attendance at this year’s Royal Rumble and I never imagined such a response. Thank you to all the ladies in the back and to all the fans. What a moment to be alive and feel alive. It’s all thanks to each and every one of you.”
“In wrestling there may be moments where a storyline is taken away, you’re taken out of a segment, times are cut, your match gets scrapped and/or you get treated like you you don’t matter enough to be used,” Melina continued. “But at that Rumble, the crowd reaction, the love I felt and all the kind words that were said, THAT was pure & real.”

Melina wants to square off with Sasha Banks
Melina also proceeded to mention that she loved the way Impact Wrestling allowed her to compete in two big matches, last year including the one against dual champion Deonna Purrazzo. Now, she wants to square off against the best that WWE has to offer. Moving on in her Insta post, the veteran chose Sasha Banks to be her perfect opponent,
“Sasha Banks, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect opponent to start the Rumble and make my WWE in ring return with. Thank you for that magic moment. Ughhhh! What could have been!!!!!”
Only time will tell whether WWE is interested in this match but Melina is a great champion on her own rights. She won the Women’s Title on multiple occasions in the past in WWE who wasn’t seen in the company for a long time due to contract related issues.
