It’s the post-Wrestlemania season and roster cut is one the way for WWE NXT. Over the past couple of years, the biggest professional wrestling company has gotten rid of the unnecessary burden from both NXT and the main roster by the name of COVID-19-related budget cuts.
The process continued this past week as several WWE NXT Superstars were released without prior notice. Some of them were regular features on NXT TV which led to disbelief among many of the WWE Universe members. However, it could only be the beginning of surprises for this year.

On the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the latest updates within the WWE about potential releases. Some within the company believe that more names from WWE NXT could be trimmed down. At this point, we can only guess who those names could be,
“There’s people in the company who think that [the ten names] that’s not it. I’ve heard rumblings about more, but who knows? Some of these, obviously, were blindsided because you can just watch the TV and see Dexter Lumis and Persia Pirotta, and who was the other one? Malcom Bivens.”

As noted above, several WWE NXT talents were released, a couple of days ago. The final list of names, that were released is given below:
* Dexter Lumis
* Malcolm Bivens
* Dakota Kai
* Harland
* Persia Pirotta
* Raelyn Divine
* Draco Anthony

As you can see, some of the WWE NXT Superstars who were released from contact were involved in ongoing storylines. That being said, we should get to see some interesting changes on television, starting with this Tuesday night. Some of the on-screen angles including InDex and DuSia love story would have to be scrapped. But more importantly, some of the superstars from WWE’s third brand are unsafe.
Dakota Kai and Malcolm Bivens have already opened up about the situation and they both revealed that they weren’t planning to renew their WWE NXT contracts. Kai’s contract was reportedly going to end on April 2023, while Malcolm Bivens’ contract was set to expire at the beginning of 2023.
