WWE star Mustafa Ali who has been a former Midwestern State Pro Wrestling Heritage champion recently talked about his current state in WWE and he said that he is the most underutilized wrestler in the promotion right now. Ali is working in WWE for over five years and he still did not win any Championship in the promotion yet.
He arrived in WWE back in 2016 as a part of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. What most of the fans do not know that he was not originally set to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic. Brazilian wrestler Zumbi was the actual name in his position, but he could not participate because of some issues with his visa. Therefore he was replaced by Ali. He could not survive in the tournament for long but he made a mark for himself.
Mustafa Ali Unhappy With His Current State?
The Pakistani descent professional wrestler started work in WWE permanently and he is working in WWE for over 5 years now, still the 35 year old professional wrestler could not achieve anything special yet. There was a time when it looked like WWE is planning something big for him when the promotion booked the stable Retribution. Ali was the leader of the stable.
He got a decent upper mid card push while being the leader of Retribution. But we all know what is WWE famous for, breaking stables for apparently no reason. After Retribution was over, Ali became a jobber. He has teamed up with Mansoor but he is losing almost every match these days. This is quite unfortunate that such a talented wrestler is being fitted in this way. Even though he is not the only underutilized wrestler in WWE right now.
Mustafa Ali who has been a former Midwestern State Pro Wrestling Heritage champion recently spoke to WWE’s The Bump where he talked about his current state in WWE and he said that he is the most underutilized wrestler in the promotion right now. He said;
“I think I’m the most unheard voice in the history of WWE,” Ali said. “[Stares straight into the hard camera] With zero hesitation in my voice, with no flinch whatsoever, I will say pound for pound, I am the most underutilized talent in this company’s history.
“Does that put it into perspective for you? Here’s the thing, I speak many languages, and one of them is the truth, and I know that’s a foreign language, especially around the WWE Universe. But the truth is, I’ve been great this entire time. All it is is an opportunity that I’m asking for. And when I do have those opportunities, some outside intervention always just seems to show up conveniently.
“You mentioned one person who did that hashtag, #JusticeForAli. Listen, I’m that same guy who came back from a serious, almost career-ending injury, and for weeks, all I heard was, ‘Kofi, Kofi,’ night in and night out.
“I moved on, but I’m rehashing here. Same thing at Money In The Bank. The next night, they were dancing with Brock [Lesnar]. Where was Justice for Ali then? I’m not looking for anyone’s support. I don’t need anyone’s support. The only thing I need is an opportunity. I’ll handle the rest.”
