New Contender For Bobby Roode’s NXT Championship Revealed 1

With Shinsuke Nakamura’s departure from NXT, Bobby Roode needs a new challenger for his NXT championship.

Former two times NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura lost to Bobby Roode at NXT Takeover Orlando. This was his second straight defeat to the ‘Glorious’ NXT champion. This week on Tuesday Night Smackdown, ‘the king of strong style’ made his debut. It is pretty obvious that Nakamura is done with NXT for good. From now on he is a part of the main roster.

But what is up for Bobby Roode? Who would be in the queue to challenge him for the NXT championship? The singles athletes that are available on the NXT right now, no one seems good enough for the main event scene except a few.

Kassius Ohno is a legit choice but he already lost his NXT title shot to Bobby Roode two weeks ago at the NXT. Next, in line would definitely be the leader of Sanity; Eric Young.

Now we have seen these two athletes fighting each other back in their NXT days. It would be awesome to see them battling again in the WWE. But both athletes are turning heel, so it is not possible to have a heel vs. heel feud on the main event scene.

So who is up on the queue?

At the NXT Takeover Orlando, we have seen Drew Galloway aka Drew McIntyre was sitting in the crowd. He was focused on the camera and his name also popped up. The commentators also addressed his name.

This week on NXT, it has been revealed that Drew McIntyre will be on NXT next week. And his focus will be on the NXT championship.

So it is pretty much clear that we will see a feud between Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre over the NXT championship in the upcoming days. Since Bobby Roode is playing a heel persona, Drew will definitely be a babyface.

Drew McIntyre joined the main roster of WWE in 2009. He was doing an excellent job. He was being built as an undefeated star. He was portrayed as Vince McMahon’s ‘chosen one’ before he finally lost his streak against the big red machine Kane. After the defeat, he could never get his momentum back. He had one held IC title reign and one tag team title reign along with Cody Rhodes in his previous WWE run.

After leaving WWE, he got really successful. He joined TNA in 2015 for only one year where he had two title runs including one TNA world heavyweight championship run and one Impact grand championship run.

He had great success on the independent promotions too. He is currently carrying the WCPW World championship.

Hopefully, Drew McIntyre will come out to be a very strong force in his current WWE reign.
