This week on Monday Night Raw the commissioner of WWE Vince McMahon had a special announcement to make. He announced a ‘superstar shake up’ next week on Monday Night Raw.
Now, what is this superstar shake up? It was not confirmed what it actually was. But they confirmed it on Smackdown. Some superstars will switch brands. This is what Mr. McMahon meant by the superstar shake up.
So what switches are possible in this superstar shake up drama? Let us start with the most obvious one; Roman Reigns – AJ Styles switch. Maybe this is the reason why all this thing is booked. This rumor is floating all over the world of wrestling from last month. Vince McMahon wants to capitalize AJ Styles’ fame on Raw. And this is why he turned babyface on this week too.
Planning for Roman Reigns is pretty clear. It is already been reported that Roman Reigns will be the main event at WrestleMania 34 against none other than Brock Lesnar. Dave Meltzer replied while answering a question regarding upcoming contract of Brock Lesnar;
“The whole big thing for Brock, all along, has been to become a monster, be unbeatable, run through everybody, and then lose to Roman Reigns, that has been the idea for Brock for years now.”
It seems like Roman Reigns will join Smackdown on next week’s superstar shake upto destroy everyone at Smackdown and will win all the feuds. He will have a number of WWE championship reigns too, at least one. Then he will the Royal Rumble match of 2018. He will head back to Raw and will challenge him for the Universal championship. Then he will beat Brock Lesnar at the grandest stage of them all.
But what is up for AJ Styles if he joins Raw? It is reported that Vince McMahon wants to cash in AJ Styles’ fame on Monday Night Raw. But would he do that?
AJ Styles turned to face this week on Smackdown. In a promo with Shane McMahon, AJ Styles told Shane that after WrestleMania, he felt like he owed Shane something, he offered to shake hands with Shane and Shane accepted, which is definitely a clear indication towards face turn.
So what are the feuds that are waiting for a ‘babyface’ AJ Styles at Monday night Raw? If Vince McMahon wants to cash in AJ’s popularity at Raw, he should not let him job or lose so many feuds. As Brock Lesnar is scheduled to drop the Universal title directly to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, there is no chance AJ will win the title. So it would be better for him not to feud for the Universal title. Instead, feuding for the US title and having some reigns would make sense.
