WWE star Nikki ASH who is a former two times WWE women’s Tag Team Champion recently talked about her new superhero gimmick. She is currently being addressed as almost a superhero.
But Nikki ASH is not the first WWE wrestler to perform a superhero role. It was the late great professional wrestler Tony Marino who played the first superhero gimmick in WWE. Marino adapted the gimmick of Batman and he was known as Battman during his time WWE. The gimmick stood in the 1960s.

Nikki ASH On Her Superhero Character
The Hurricane was another superhero gimmick of WWE played by the legendary professional wrestler Gregory Helms in the early 2000s. The Hurricane was mostly a comedy character who did have a number of nice achievement in WWE. The character is still loved by the fans. Helms made a cameo appearance during the Royal Rumble match of 2018 as the Hurricane.

Another WWE Hall of Famer who played the role of a super hero is Molly Holly. In the early 2000 she allied with the Hurricane and she was famously known as the Mighty Molly. The character is so famous that she even appeared as the Mighty Molly as a surprise entrance of the Woman’s Royal Rumble match 2020.
Former two times WWE women’s Tag Team Champion Nikki ASH recently spoke to Instinct Culture by Denise Salcedo where she talked about her new superhero gimmick. She said;

“It really started from my love of watching superhero movies and watching superhero cartoons. When I was growing up in Glasgow, Scotland I would always watch the X-Men cartoon and the Spiderman cartoon then growing older and growing up with the Marvel Universe, the MCU and watching a lot of DC and the Justice League and Suicide Squad; I just finished watching Loki; we watched Black Widow last week so alot of superheroes and it seemed like the perfect time.
“For me it was combining my love of Sports Entertainment, WWE, and combining that with superheroes.”
