WWE NXT’s McKenzie Mitchell has rumoredly received the call-up to the main roster on this Monday night for Raw. Interestingly she was still working this week’s WWE NXT 2.0 episode from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and it could be the last time we could spot her on Wednesday nights.

As seen since this past Monday Night, McKenzie Mitchell was trending on Twitter after conducting several backstage interviews on RAW that took place from the Gainsbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. She then took to her Instagram Stories and revealed that she was also working this week’s NXT 2.0 episode which could be her last appearance. It remains to be seen whether she continues to work for the RAW and NXT brand, each week.

Apart from McKenzie Mitchell, NXT referee Aja Smith also worked RAW this week, for a second consecutive week in a row. She called last night’s RAW match between Bianca Belair and Tamina Snuka. There is no update on whether this is a permanent call-up for Smith. The official made her RAW debut back in April 2020 but has continued to work NXT since then.

Smith, a former SHINE Tag Team Champion and a SHINE Nova Champion. She was signed by WWE back in February 2020 to work as a referee. WWE announced her signing as she was plugged in to be the first full-time African American female referee for the company.

McKenzie Mitchell could be the new backstage face of Raw

As for McKenzie Mitchell, she is likely to be a suitable name to fill in the void of star backstage interviewer on Monday Night Raw. The back-to-back departures of Renee Young or Cathy Kelly or ESPN figure Charly Caruso left the brand with a proper face of the backstage hosting team. Kayla Braxton has been a mainstay name for the Friday Night Smackdown brand over the past few years.
