The first WWE NXT War Games 2021 match was set up following this week’s episode on the USA Network. This came after a main event singles contest between two friend-cum-foes who squared off in an attempt of upstaging each other. Things were eventually disqualified as a brawl broke out to set up the first match for next month’s NXT PPV event.
The first WWE NXT War Games 2021 match should feature Dakota Kai and Toxic Attraction (NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) vs. Raquel Gonzalez, Cora Jade, Io Shirai, and another name to be announced (possibly Kay Lee Ray).

During this week’s NXT 2.0 main event, Raquel Gonzalez defeated Dakota Kai by DQ when the Toxic Attraction members hit the ring and attacked Gonzalez. The heel trio wanted to triple-team on Raquel but this brought out Jade, who made the save for Gonzalez with her skateboard.

The numbers game then caught up to Jade and Gonzalez against Kai and Toxic Attraction. But then the injured Zoey Stark (who was wearing a leg brace and using crutches) brought out Io Shirai, who rushed the ring with one of the crutches. Shirai, Gonzalez, and Jade then fought off Kai and Toxic Attraction until they cleared the ring to hint that these two factions could face off at WWE NXT War Games 2021.
Shirai stood with Gonzalez and Jade to end the show. She took the mic to announce, “WarGames!” while hinting that she’s ready for the chaotic matchup. At this point, WWE didn’t officially announce the matchup.

Zoey Stark suffered a torn ACL and meniscus a few weeks back following which she had to undergo surgery during the second week of this month. She is currently rehabbing and it’s unlikely that she will be medically cleared to compete in time for WWE NXT War Games 2021. KLR who recently returned to NXT currently has some issues with Toxic Attraction in the storylines and hence it’s possible that she will be the possible fourth member of Team Shirai.

WWE NXT War Games 2021 takes place on Sunday, December 5 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. At this point, there’s no update available on the men’s division matchup for War Games.
