The semi-final matchups of the 2022 WWE NXT Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament have been confirmed. The final first-round matches of the tournament went down during the latest episode of NXT 2.0 episode and the respective winners from these two matches moved on to the next round and one step closer to becoming the winner.
Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai defeated Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta to advance in the first first-round matchup on WWE NXT. Persia grabbed Choo but Kai leveled her with a pump kick, allowing Choo to connect with a moonsault. Kai followed up with a double stomp on Persia for the pin to win and advance to the next round.
WWE NXT 2.0 Results (01/03/22): Women’s Dusty Cup; Gunther vs. Solo Sikoa; Title Match
In the last first-round matchup of the 2022 WWE NXT Dusty Cup, Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez defeated Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon to advance. After a big fall-away slam, Gonzalez clubbed Feroz to the mat and planted her with a big Chingona Bomb. Jade made the tag as Gonzalez slammed her on top of Feroz for the pin to win and advance.
WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2022 Card To Have A Championship Ladder Match
As per the released card, Choo and Kai will now face Jade and Gonzalez in the semi-finals. In the other semi-finals bout, Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray will compete against Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. Both these matches have officially been inserted into the match card of the WWE NXT Roadblock edition on March 8. The winning teams from those two matches will collide in the finals at a later date.
The winners of the tournament will have their names carved into the Dusty Classic trophy. Plus, they will also receive a title shot from the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.
