There were a lot of cool moments on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown as WWE organized an old school style show. Pat McAfee and Michael Cole are the commentators for the night in vintage suits. The show was fun from some aspects, even though fans expected to see some returns of the day WWE legends.
Unfortunately, there was only one return and that was off Teddy Long. Having Teddy long in the show was quite fun. Some of his moments were quite funny, especially when he set a match between Sami Zayn and the Undertaker, and he mistakenly addressed King Corbin as King Booker, tooth movements were just hilarious.
Pat McAfee Reveals His Feeling About Playing Vince McMahon On Smackdown
They showed some School footage from old SmackDown episodes, which were pretty fun to see. And the improvement they made with the current superstars in Ruthless Aggression Era style, it was quite good.
The commentators, Michael and Pat McAfee were dress like the old school commentators. Pat McAfee’s attire reminded us of Vince McMahon from his commentary days. McAfee on the pat McAfee show recently spoke about his experience on playing Vince McMahon on the throwback edition of Smackdown. He said;
“I was watching film. I didn’t think I did enough research before Friday, but once I got to Friday, it hit me. ‘I’m Vince McMahon, on Vince’s show, in front of Vince.’ Vince doesn’t like that type of shit. He doesn’t like acknowledgment or to be thanked by people or mentioned by people.
“I was going to be coming out like ‘You’re…fired!’ I had a moment like, ‘This could be real bad.’ I started watching videos. The walk, he has a little D’Lo Brown with the head movement. I was excited. I thought there was a chance we do something magical and all of a sudden…it’s over.”
He also said how the camera followed him in a documentary style;
“WWE was following me around all day to create like a documentary of me becoming Vince McMahon. That’s real. It should be shown, the depths that we went to to make this happen, and then it immediately getting flipped on its head. Would have been cool, maybe next time.”
