Persia Pirotta was assumed to be a star in the making of WWE NXT, especially in recent times when her on-screen presence increased. He was involved in a romantic angle with co-stare Duke Hudson and their kayfabe saga was spread all over the internet.
But the WWE budget cut saga continued as the company released a number of talents from their NXT contracts Friday, April 29th. In total, WWE released 10 performers from their contracts. Dexter Lumis, Dakota Kai, Harland, Persia Pirotta, Malcolm Bivens, Raelyn Divine, Mila Malani, Draco Anthony, Sanjana George, and Paige Prinzivalli were the latest trimmed down talents from NXT while reports claim that more is coming.
Top WWE NXT Talent’s Release Request Turned Down By Officials
Apparently, Persia Pirotta also thinks the same way as she believes some of the names aren’t immune from the cost-cutting process. Many fans were surprised by her firing, but it appears that she was aware that it was coming.
Persia Pirotta got hints of her WWE release
When Persia Pirotta spoke with Fightful, she expressed the idea that WWE’s track record of nixing talent engulfed them. Here’s more from the source,
“She told Fightful that she didn’t consider it a shock because of the way talent has been cut since she’d been there and she’d been thinking about it a lot ever since she got hired. The conversation wasn’t long, and she knew when she saw a call from Stamford that her time was coming. She doesn’t believe there are many people there that could consider themselves immune from it.”
Persia Pirotta, real name Steph De Lander also told the source that “she had considered the releases, and heard rumors they were happening close to Good Friday. She spoke highly of Doudop’s demeanor and said they and Kay Lee Ray were hanging out the day before release day and spoke about the possibility of them happening.”
Charlotte Flair Wants To Add A Roman Reigns Run To Her WWE Legacy
Persia Pirotta is currently serving the no-compete clause put by the WWE but it should be over within 30 days from her release. This is the reason that she has already started taking bookings from the independent scene. It appears that her first indie appearance will take place in June.
WWE first signed Persia Pirotta to a contract in 2019 and that original contract would have been up this year. She was mostly paired with her fellow Australian talent, Indi Hartwell as the two had a legit connection prior to WWE. Indi is alone on the NXT brand, as her on-screen husband Dexter Lumis is also fired but maybe a new romantic angle with Duke Hudson could be blooming.
