As seen on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE may have planned the initial buildup of the next Universal Championship feud. The prime title present on Monday Night Raw will no longer be on the red brand, anymore as The Fiend brought it on the blue brand.

WWE TLC announcements

He won it from Seth Rollins back at Crown Jewel to tease the first title defense in due course. Daniel Bryan appeared to be his first victim as the champion.

The leader of the YES movement was involved in a short feud against Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn for the past few weeks. It led us thinking that we might see an Intercontinental Championship match between Daniel Bryan and Nakamura via this program.

Even, WWE’s social media handles indicated the same in recent posts. But the storyline took an abrupt turn with The Fiend getting involved.

The Fiend suddenly attacked Daniel Bryan in a backstage segment on SmackDown potentially hinting his first opponent for the championship defense. Now, Slice Wrestling has confirmed that WWE officials have indeed planned to carry this feud forward for the Universal title. Bryan may not be the one to dethrone The Fiend from his title reign. But they are expecting a mouth-watering feud from this point.

Also, the source claims that he might continue to hold on to the belt until Wrestlemania 36,

“Daniel Bryan will be a “face” heading into this program and WWE is excited at the in-ring excellence Bryan will bring to this feud. There are no plans whatsoever for The Fiend to drop his WWE Universal Championship anytime soon as WWE is hell-bent on making The Fiend to the most terrifying character in recent WWE history since The Undertaker. The Fiend making his entrance as Universal Champion at WrestleMania 36 will surely be a sight to behold.”

With the automatic comparison between The Fiend and The Undertaker around the WWE Universe, a match between these two is being rumored for Wrestlemania 36.

This might turn out to be the very last that we will see the Deadman competing in a ring. But we are yet to go a long way to the biggest event of them all and plans can change depending on the situation.
