Brock Lesnar shocked the world in the main event of Saturday night’s WWE Day 1 pay-per-view as he won the WWE Championship. This match was originally scheduled to be a Fatal-4-Way match between Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley in what appeared to be a co main event from Raw.

But then Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 earlier the day of the PPV, which resulted in the original main event Universal Title defense against Brock Lesnar getting canceled. As a result, the challenger for the Universal Title was then added to the WWE Championship match, making it a Fatal-5-Way match.

Plans Revealed For Brock Lesnar On Raw After Winning WWE Championship 1

As seen in the final moments of the match, Brock Lesnar pinned Big E in the Fatal-5-Way match to win the WWE Championship. A report from WWFOldSchool provides updates that the new champion will first defend his title against Big E. The math is being planned for the Royal Rumble 2022 PPV and the storyline should begin from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. E was the former champion who is obligated to receive his rematch for the title.

Brock Lesner could be champion until Wrestlemania 38

With Wrestlemania season getting kicked off, it’s likely that the title reign isn’t likely to end, anytime soon. After Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley is being targeted for the Super ShowDown 2022 PPV in Saudi Arabia in February. The report also informed that Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is still scheduled for WrestleMania 38, which would most likely culminate in their feud.

At this point, there’s no update is available on whether Lesnar will still be the champion in time for Wrestlemania, making his match against Reigns a Champion vs. Champion bout, or the beast will simply be challenging the Tribal Chief over the Universal title.

Plans Revealed For Brock Lesnar On Raw After Winning WWE Championship 2

In another update from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, the first planned opponent for WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will reportedly be former WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley. This does suit the storyline as Lashley outsmarted Lesnar, throughout the WWE Day 1 title match and he wasn’t involved in the decisive pinfall or submission move, as well. Bobby Lashley lost the WWE title on the September 13 edition of RAW at the hands of Big E who successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
