Randy Orton is one of the most veteran pro wrestling stars to be present in the WWE locker room. Being a fourteen-time world champion, he is a first-ballot Hall of Famer in the upcoming future. Starting in the year 2002, he is the only full-time active superstars on the Raw roster, even today. During his tenure with the company, WWE used different theme music for him.

The company often changes themes according to their gimmicks and that was the case for Randy Orton, too. From 2009 onwards, WWE stuck to the current theme ”Voices” which is arguably the most popular of all-time. It worked accordingly to build The Viper shtick, for over 12 years. It’s very much popular among the WWE Universe, too.

But it seems that Randy Orton himself is not that much of a fan of this theme song. While being interviewed by Lucha Libre Online’s Michael Morales Torres, former WWE composer Jim Johnston revealed that he once heard that The Apex Predator didn’t like his current entrance theme, at all.

Interestingly though, Randy Orton never directly spoke to Johnston about his dislike of the Voices theme song but he does believe that the rumor is actually true.

“I never spoke to him directly, but apparently, Randy Orton said he hated his theme. I don’t know if he still does and I don’t even know why, but apparently, that was true. I never spoke with him about it.”

Randy Orton isn’t the only one who hates his current WWE theme music

Johnston added that the third generation superstar Randy Orton isn’t the only one who disliked his theme as former WWE Superstar Yokozuna directly approached him to change his entrance music.

“I didn’t deal directly with the wrestlers… I remember Yoko (Yokozuna), he called me, managed to get me on the phone, and said he wanted to change his music from the Japanese sumo wrestler stuff. Now I’m trapped on the phone with the guy. So I said “Well, what are you thinking?” He said “Well, I’d like some hip hop.” I said “Yoko, you’re a sumo wrestler! You’re not a hip hop guy.” But from his perspective, and I don’t mean to be mean here, he was like “But I live in LA?” So it made perfect sense to him… So in general I didn’t get involved with the talent.”

Jim Johnston has worked for the WWE for a long time and he is the one to compose the iconic themes of several WWE Superstars including The Undertaker, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, Randy Orton, and many more. Unfortunately, he is not with the WWE, anymore. He was released by the company back in 2017 after which WWE is mostly using CFO$ for new entrance music soundtracks.
