Becky Lynch made a miraculous return back at Summerslam 2021 which was one of the top 10 moments of last year. Since then, she’s been booked as a top heel despite the fact that she was a universally loved babyface figure amongst the fans. But her protected status was kept intact despite this heel identity.
This is the reason that it’s hard to find someone who would dethrone Becky Lynch from her ongoing title reign. This villainous turn was something she wanted to do for a long time. Her feud with Bianca Belair helped her to shape up the character in a good way. But first Bianca and then Liv Morgan, both have failed to topple her from the ongoing title reign.
Now, it seems that Beth Phoenix could be on her way to challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship after the WWE Hall Of Famer returned at WWE Day 1 if she would eventually respond to the challenge laid down by Becky Lynch.
Becky Lynch excited about Beth Phoenix’s return?
The Miz and Maryse tried hard to steal a win from Edge at WWE Day 1, but the Rated R Superstar’s wife showed up and neutralized the scene for him. Edge managed to spear his way to a huge win at the bygone PPV event. Ending all the speculations, Beth Phoenix did show up on WWE TV who’d possibly be seen in action and Big Time Becks was the first one to throw down the challenge.

Phoenix took to Twitter and posted a photo of herself in the ring alongside Edge and captioned the shot as the ‘grit couple’ which was a mockery towards The Miz and Maryse calling themselves the IT couple in the WWE. In the comment box, Becky Lynch posted, “So…wanna fight sometime?” teasing a possible showdown between the two of them.

As noted, Phoenix made her return to the company during the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view, coming to the aid of her husband Edge during his match against The Miz but she never went physical. The primary speculation is that Phoenix left her job from NXT commentary to enjoy an in-ring stint. If that’s the case then a dream match against Becky Lynch can’t simply be ruled out.
