WWE on FOX social media account was hyping up this week’s episode of SmackDown by announcing that Seth Rollins will be back in the scene. It seems those plans could have been changed within just a couple of days. The tweet by FOX account dedicated to WWE, sent out last week saying that The Messiah would be returning, has since been removed.
Additionally, there’s no information available either about Seth Rollins’ return over the preview published by WWE for this week’s SmackDown. It was only mentioned that Roman Reigns is set to make a special request for management on the show while Big E will take on King Corbin. Sasha Banks will team up with Bianca Belair to wrestle Bayley and Carmella.
It’s pretty interesting that there’s no mention was made of Seth Rollins’ return. So, fans are wondering what this could mean. The speculations are suggesting that he could show up anyway, but his return is not being promoted, as of now along with the handful of segments WWE announced for Friday Night SmackDown this week.
Reason Seth Rollins’ WWE Smackdown Return Not Happening, This Week
Ringside News released a bit of information around the situation. They pointed out how WWE on FOX’s Twitter account tweeted out a graphic for Seth Rollins’ return and then they deleted it. Apparently, this was nothing but an instance of miscommunication with WWE management.
WWE Stars Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins Kept Their Baby’s Birth Secret
The source was told that “WWE on FOX went with information that was ‘possible’ instead of information that was ‘final.’” They have also been told that this kind of thing “happens more than you think.” Scrips of shows these days change more often until the eleventh hour and thus promotions can’t be considered as final advertisements by any means. Such thing happened with a Moment of Bliss talk-show with Randy Orton in December where the headliner segment was completely nixed out and the host Alexa Bliss was absent.
However, the good thing is that the top superstar of the WWE roster won’t be absent for a long time. Seth Rollins could be back as early as next week (if not this week) although it’s not guaranteed. Perhaps, WWE could be planning something bigger than expected with Rollins’ return. But it still led to a confusing situation as to why WWE would promote such a thing in advance.
