Renee Young had good times with CM Punk as colleagues several years back while they used to be part of the WWE. Punk used to be one of the top Superstars on the roster when the journalist based from Canada entered the scene and won everyone’s hearts with her dedication and hard work. Unfortunately, she isn’t anymore with the WWE, and nor is Punk.
But that certainly doesn’t stop the fans to anticipate a return of the Second City Savior. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, they used to break into a show with CM Punk chants letting know, how much they miss him. Renee Young is certainly a fan of this who also wants to see this happen. The return doesn’t necessarily need to happen in WWE.

Renee Young recently appeared in an interview with Metro UK to speak her mind that it would be a shame if CM Punk never returns to wrestling. The host of Oral Sessions Podcast noted how that wrestling passion is still burning inside him. Whatever role he was playing in the movies or at announcing table, at the end of the day, he still is a bonafide wrestler.
“I think it would be an absolute shame if he did not come back,” Renee Young said about Punk during the interview. “Like you said, that passion is still there! He’s a wrestler! He is a wrestler through and through.”
“Whether he was busy doing movies or TV shows or other aspirations that he has, I think at the end of the day wrestling is the thing that makes that guy tick.”

Renee Young also discussed how a good creative plan is needed to drag Punk back into the wrestling ring where a lucrative paycheck will also come in handy.
“I think for him to not come back in some capacity, whatever creative he ends up working out that he really wants to do – I think ultimately, that that’s what it would come down to for him, is finding that great creative.”
“Paycheques are nice too, but really I think it’s just being able to tell the stories that you wanna be able to tell,’ she continued. “He’s got lots that he could serve up to both promotions – WWE or AEW.”
“But people would lose their minds to see him come back, so let’s hope that he doesn’t have too much dust on those boots.”
It should be noted that Renee Young was the one to welcome back CM Punk in a WWE show that is WWE Backstage in late 2019 on FOX. The two used to be co-hosts of the show before the show was pulled off amid the coronavirus pandemic.
CM Punk hasn’t wrestled in the WWE in a match since January 2014. Royal Rumble of that year marked the end of his wrestling stint. Afterward, he went to MMA for a failed stint. The former WWE Champion also sat on the commentary desk for a promotion but he never considered coming back to wrestling since then. Previous talks with WWE about return seem to have fallen through.
