Zelina Vega proved her potential to be an asset on the WWE roster but she wasn’t abode by the company’s third-party rules. This caused her release from the contract in November 2020. After almost six months, she has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in recent times. Thereafter reports also claim that the company intends to bring her back.
There are still some doubts over her status as she is still active on those third-party apps. Zelina Vega was released after she didn’t comply with WWE’s third-party ban. She opened an OnlyFans site and continued to stream on Twitch. Following the release from WWE, she stayed on Twitch as she was making more money on her Twitch than her previous WWE deal.

At this time, the plan is to bring her back to the main roster and not on NXT. Specific ways to make the return are still being nurtured as we wait to know which brand she could be a part of.
Since her husband Aleister Black has also come back on TV after a hiatus, she can easily play the role of his manager which is an option. According to Fightful Select, Zelina Vega had filmed something with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter, Simone Johnson who is a WWE Performance Center trainee and currently nursing an injury.

Since there’s no update on what they were filming, perhaps WWE could have planned something with the two of them especially considering that the two are real-life friends. Previously, Zelina Vega also played the role of AJ Lee in Fighting With My Family (based on WWE Superstar Paige’s life), a film produced by The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions.

It was also noted that Zelina Vega’s WWE return “has been in the works for a while” around the WrestleMania 37 season. Previous reports already claimed that this was the reason she couldn’t negotiate another deal with AEW due to another contractual agreement. So WWE was in touch with her since after the no-compete clause was over in February.
