Rey Mysterio brought his son Dominik Mysterio on WWE TV, 15 years ago and also involved him in a cult storyline with legendary Eddie Guerrero. That little boy is a grown-up boy, right now who must be feeling proud of being a WWE Superstar. He started to climb the ladder following the footsteps of his father.

These two even teamed up together in recent times and it looked like they’re all set to take out Rollins and Murphy, together. But Rey Mysterio suffered an injury and he needs time-off from WWE programming. He is dealing with a torn triceps injury that isn’t a full tear. So he will reportedly be out of action for a month or two.

Ringside News has informed that WWE plans to keep Dominik on television while Rey Mysterio would be out. His father won’t be around him but he is considered “amazing for the demo,” most notably in the younger female demographic. Dominik has done well all by himself while his father was dealing with the kayfabe “eye injury.” The same policy will be adopted, this time, too.

Dominik lived up to the expectations with his debut performance at SummerSlam. The following week Dominik picked up an impressive tag team win with Rey Mysterio at Payback in a match where the latter was injured. Dominik getting the pinfall win at Payback was apparently a 100% statement.

With that being said, it’s certain that WWE intends to keep Dominik on TV while Rey Mysterio remains out of action. He is only expected to be back within a couple of months. These two were supposed to be teaming up together, during this time. So, WWE will have to arrange a separate angle for him if not the ongoing angle with Rollins continues.

In the meantime, Rey Mysterio will soon get a new show on Cartoon Network Latin America. The Greatest Mask Of All Time will be featuring in a new animated series called “Rey Mysterio.” The deal was possibly made, away from WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the new animated series’ will revolve around a story of a fan who teams up with the masked luchador to take on the world’s evil. Here’s a synopsis,

“The character of Mysterio will be in a cartoon where a fan of Mysterio has found out secret information where the forces of evil are threatening the world, he calls on Mysterio and the two of them work together to save the world.”
