Unfortunately for him, the opponent turned out to be Bobby Lashley. It was also a surprise that The Dominator was back to compete after being part of that stage explosion, last week. Despite Rey Mysterio hitting him with a DDT and 619, Lashley caught him with a reverse STO and delivered a spear to win the match. The relentless attack continued even after the match to deliver a message to Braun Strowman. In case you don’t know, Strowman and Lashley will collide in a Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules.

WWE Raw suddenly became interesting with a massive announcement prior to the show going on air. The official website of the company declared none other than Rey Mysterio was returning to the show after a hiatus of multiple weeks. He was dealing with a shoulder injury for the past few weeks. But therapeutic rehab process has preponed his comeback.

So WWE.com confirmed his appearance on WWE Raw,

“Following the unbelievable set of circumstances in which he was forced to relinquish the United States Championship due to a shoulder injury, Rey Mysterio will return to Raw this Monday night. What will The Greatest Mask of All Time have to say upon his return and how will he impact the ever-changing landscape of the red brand? Find out when Raw goes down this Monday night at 8/7 C on USA Network.”

Speculations were running rampant on this return on WWE Raw predicting what WWE could be in-store for him upon the comeback. He could be continuing the canceled Dominic angle from Money in the Bank or else go right away into the United States Championship picture. He has never lost the title but had to vacate it rather due to the suffered legit injury. But, WWE rather chose for a squash match against Bobby Lashley who is all set to dominate Extreme Rules.
