The Greatest Mask in the history of sports entertainment is set to receive the ultimate honor at the WWE Hall of Fame 2023. After enjoying more than a two-decade-long career in the WWE, Rey Mysterio has officially been announced to go into the most prestigious club of the company during the Wrestlemania 39 weekend.
The current Smackdown roster member was confirmed to be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 class during the latest Friday night episode via a video package. Rey then came out to the ring for a promo, but before he could drop a word, Dominik Mysterio came out with Judgment Day members to confront his father.

Continuing to take verbal jabs at Rey, he questioned whether a washed-up man like him should go into the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 class. He reminded Rey of all the things he missed while young Dom was growing up. After Dom said that he was ashamed to be his son, Legado Del Fantasma led by Santos Escobar came out for a six-man tag team match with Judgment Day.
Dominik was the one to get the pinfall win over Cruz del Toro in the match after which he continued to go after his father with a mic in hand. Dom wanted to fight his father but he was denied. Dom still wanted to attack him but Rey dumped him over the top rope to end the segment.

Rey Mysterio had a true WWE Hall of Fame 2023-worthy career
Going by the current storyline, Rey vs. Dominik is likely to go down at Wrestlemania 39 just a night after the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 ceremony. Starting his professional wrestling career in 1989 at the age of 14, Rey does have a Hall of Fame-worthy career, after all. Throughout that successful career, he has worked for promotions such as CMLL, NJPW AAA, WCW, ECW, and WWE.
Back in WCW, he won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship five times and the WCW World Tag Team Championship three times. Then in WWE, he’s won the Cruiserweight Championship three times, the World Heavyweight Championship two times, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the United States Championship twice, the WWE Championship once, and the Tag Team Championships four times. After the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 confirmation, we will simply call Rey a WWE Hall of Famer.
