Dominik Mysterio started his WWE career as the Tag Team partner of his father Rey Mysterio. Together they became the first ever father – son Tag Team champion in WWE history. But later Dominik decided to betray his father and started a feud with him. Their feud continued for white a long time and it ended at WrestleMania 38.
Rey Mysterio kept on refusing to fight his son, but by WrestleMania 38 he finally changed his mind and accepted to fight him. Rey defeated his son in this match and after the event, both of them went to different brands on the WWE draft. The feud could not continue after this but Dominik kept on climbing the ladder of success.
Rey Mysterio’s Mixed Emotions: Proud of Dominik Mysterio, but Vows to Take North American Title
He turned out to be not only the biggest heel of WWE but the most hated heel in the whole world of professional wrestling today. The heat he is receiving at this moment is something that nobody got to see in the recent years. Rey Mysterio recently talked about the current success of his son and shared praise for him. But he also threatened to take the title away from him. Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, the Hall Of Famer said;
On Titus O’Neil asking him if he’s proud of Dom’s title win: “Titus, you’re a father, and you know how it is. Sometimes, when you fight with your kids, or your kids do the wrong things, and you gotta put them in place. That’s happened for the past year with Dom and myself, and not just myself but my wife as well.

Despite the issues that we might have in our family, you can’t even imagine the amount of pride and joy that I feel every time he accomplishes something. That still doesn’t take away the fact that he’s disrespected his whole family, and I’m hoping that one day, that will all change.”
On how Dominik is doing in WWE: “The fact that he’s succeeding and becoming his own person, he’s already his own person. You don’t know how many times I would have loved to call him up and say, ‘Congratulations, son, you’re really killing it.’ But it hurts.
“Unfortunately, I can’t do it, and that really hurts. I wish things would be different. But as a father, despite our differences. I’m extremely proud of what he’s doing and what he’s conquering. He just better not step in the ring with me because I will take that North American Title.”
Recently at NXT, he won the NXT North American Championship which surprised the entire world. It has been only a week since he won the title and he has defended it two times already. So far he had been a pretty dominant champion and the title is being treated as a lower mid card Championship on the main roster. We hope Dominik Mysterio has a great future lying ahead of himself in WWE.
