Rhea Ripley has become one of the top female superstars on the main roster of the WWE within a year since coming from NXT. She has already made a name for herself while performing on the black-and-gold brand and her booking remained stronger after she was inserted into the Raw roster.
Although out of the top title scene, the Australian name is getting a shot at the women’s tag titles at Wrestlemania 38. For the past few weeks, WWE formed a new tag team involving Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan and they will be gunning for the titles at the Show of Shows. Although they’re a new team, they managed to defeat WWE Women Tag Team Champions Zelina Vega and Carmella on Raw to secure the title match.

While speaking with the Under The Ring Podcast, Rhea Ripley talked about going after the WWE Women Tag Team Championships on consecutive occasions in her career. She mentioned how there’s been negative feedback around this title due to its poor booking. At Wrestlemania, she wants to put up a stellar performance to that people stop looking down upon those titles.

“The Women’s Tag Team Championships, they sort of get looked down upon by a lot of people, I see it on social media all the time. I get it, we don’t really get good positions on the show and a lot of matches are very very quick, so it’s important to put it on WrestleMania and remind everyone exactly what we can do and how much these titles do truly mean,” Rhea Ripley stated.
“I love the tag titles, I love tag wrestling, I love everything about it. We just have to remind everyone how much they love it as well. That’s what we’re trying to do.”
Alongside Nikki ASH, Rhea Ripley is a one-time Women’s Tag Team Champion in the WWE. They won the titles back in the 2021 summer to bring the prestige back to the golds before dropping the belts to the team of Carmella and Zelina Vega in November. Since then, lackluster bookings around the tag titles have been noticed.
Rhea Ripley won the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 37 by defeating a top Raw superstar in Asuka. She would go on to lose that title to Charlotte Flair at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view which was the first post-pandemic PPV event with an audience in full capacity.
