Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair who is a 16 times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently claimed that WWE is holding back the former 12 times WWE Women’s champion Charlotte Flair and the former 14 times WWE World champion Randy Orton.

Ric Flair is one of the biggest legends of professional wrestling but whatever he is claiming right here, is it right? We cannot support this claim. Charlotte Flair and Randy Orton had been to of the most over achieved wrestlers in WWE history. Randy Orton is a 14 times WWE World champion, only behind John Cena and tied with Triple H. How come WWE is holding him back?

Ric Flair Claims WWE Is Holding Back Charlotte Flair And Randy Orton

It can be argued that he is out of the world championship picture for quite a while. Working in WWE does not mean staying on the title picture only. Plus he is only 42, and he has a long way to go. He is already a 14 times World champion, and surely there are many more title runs to go. So there is no way WWE is holding him back.

About Charlotte Flair, she is a 12 times WWE Women’s champion and she is considered as one of the most overrated wrestlers in WWE history. A lot of fans believe that she is the most overrated wrestler in WWE after Roman Reigns. Any wrestler can be buried by the hands of Charlotte. So this claim of Charlotte being held back is completely meaningless.

Ric Flair who is a 16 times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently spoke to the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast where he claimed that WWE is holding back the former 12 times WWE Women’s champion Charlotte Flair and the former 14 times WWE World champion Randy Orton. He said;

“You can tell a mile away whether the kids feel it or not. It’s a lot of pressure to read something that you don’t naturally feel in your heart. That’s a big difference. I mean, you could tell the guys that they really take off because they’re taking what they’ve been handed to memorize and then they put some emotion into it.

“But that’s just talking generically today. That doesn’t sell tickets. When The Rock comes back and wrestles Roman, that’ll sell tickets. When Steve Austin came back, that sold tickets. It’s just a different timeframe.

“The talent is great, make no mistake, there’s some great wrestlers, (Randy) Orton, my daughter, Sasha Banks, Styles, like there’s a list of great, probably 10 between the two companies. But the events sell themselves now as much as the wrestlers do. I don’t think they turn them loose enough. I know that they want to make sure they get the right advertisers. Everybody has to be happy.

“It’s a whole different world, but I still love it. I just feel like the guys that are really great like Randy and my daughter are held back because they (WWE) don’t want them to go that far. They don’t want anybody to become The Rock again that’s going to walk off. They don’t want somebody like Steve that could say, ‘I don’t want to do it.’ Back in the day, Hulk could say yes or no. He had that kind of power. I don’t know if that’s healthy, but Vince won’t let that happen again.”
