The former five times WWE World Champion Daniel Bryan could never retrieve his main event status after he lost his WWE championship match against Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35. He was even cut out from the main event status after losing this match.
But he was finally lifted back to the main event status earlier this year when he won the elimination chamber match during the WWE Elimination Chamber pay per view event.

Ric Flair Talks The Future Daniel Bryan After His WWE Contract Expired
At WrestleMania 37, he featured on the main event of Night two where he fought for the WWE Universal Championship against the universal champion Roman Reigns and the Royal Rumble match winner Edge. But the news was already broken that after WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan will not continue wrestling on a full time basis.
So he fought Roman Reigns in a title vs career match two weeks ago on SmackDown where he lost the match and gone for good. He was not seen in WWE since then and it does not seen like that he will be seen in the WWE ring in near future. Of course, he may make a return but it will not be for a full time basis time for sure.

Former sixteen time world champion Ric Flair recently spoke To where he gave his view on what Daniel Bryan may do after leaving wrestling. He said;
“He doesn’t have an option, he’s going to go home with Brie [Bella],” Flair said. “He’s one of the nicest kids I’ve ever met in the business and he wouldn’t leave the WWE. I would have a very difficult time believing he would leave the WWE, if he does, I’d be very surprised. That whole family, everybody’s tied to the WWE.

“I was under the impression he wanted to go home and spend more time with the kids. I don’t know what he’s going to do, whatever he does I wish him nothing but the best. He’s a great worker and just being honest with you, I did not think that at his size he could make a difference, but he has. Despite his size, he is really a hell of a hand.”
