WWE star and the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Ricochet who is also a former WWE United States champion recently talked about the possibilities of defending the WWE intercontinental championship at WrestleMania 38 and all the possible opponents for the event.
Ricochet recently defeated the previous WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn to win the Championship. Zayn was never focused on the Championship; he was mostly focusing on his WrestleMania 38 feud with Johnny Knoxville. So after he won the title, his main concern remained Knoxville and not the Championship.
Ricochet Comments On The Options Of His WrestleMania Opponent
Unfortunately, WWE is not bothered about the Intercontinental championship at all either. After WrestleMania 37, WWE decided not to book the prestigious championship properly for some reason. It is quite astonishing that the Championship has not been booked in any pay per view events since WrestleMania 37.
For some reason the Championship has become completely irrelevant to WWE. The promotion is not at all bothered to book the Championship at WrestleMania for some reason. Their focusing on booking development matches that will not help the careers of their wrestlers. For example the match between Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville. How can it help Sami to progress further?
There is not enough time left in hand either. They should book the Championship as early as possible. Even if they book The championship for WrestleMania right now, there is no way they can build a good storyline or a feud for it in such a short amount of time. But we still believe the Championship should be booked for WrestleMania 38.
Ricochet who is also a former WWE United States champion recently spoke to WWE Deutschland where he talked about the possibilities of defending the WWE intercontinental championship at WrestleMania 38 and all the possible opponents for the event. He said;
“I mean there’s so many. If I had a list of people, it’s crazy. The first person that pops into my mind is Apollo. Obviously, anybody on the roster. I know at the moment, SmackDown is kinda full with like Drew [McIntyre] and [Happy] Corbin, obviously Roman’s got a match. Shinsuke has a match. All these guys, they’re kinda in a spot. As far as SmackDown goes, everybody is kinda in a spot already. But, there is so many people.
“Cedric would be a good one. Ali would be a good one. Obviously, Rey Mysterio would be a good one. Seth Rollins would be a good one. That’s the thing about the roster nowadays, between Raw and SmackDown, its like.. We got the best people. You could have a list of names on the wall and take a dart and throw it at the wall and like whoever you land on, especially with me, it’s gonna be a good match. You can’t go wrong.”
