Dominik Mysterio is the son of legendary professional wrestler Rey Mysterio and he is working in WWE as a professional wrestler from around 4 years. He started his wrestling career along with his father as his Tag Team partner and together they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship one time. They also became the first father and son to win the WWE Tag Team championships.
Most of the WWE enhancement talent and young stars had to work in NXT before joining the main roster. The NXT is the development territory of WWE. Dominik Mysterio did not work in the NXT and started working on the main roster directly. He became quite popular on the main roster upon his debut.
Rising to the Challenge: Dominik Mysterio’s Take on Learning from WWE’s Best on the Main Roster
It had raised some eyebrows that he did not work in the NXT when most of the stars had to work in the development territory of WWE before joining the main roster. Dominik recently talked about getting to work on the main roster directly after joining WWE, he also talked about learning from the biggest stars of the industry. Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, he said;
“I think there’s definitely pros and cons to it, depending on how you look at it,” Mysterio said. “I was blessed and very fortunate to be in the position that I’m in, [and] I think just the way that I came about it, and the people that I was surrounded with, I just don’t think it made sense [to go to NXT], especially with who I was gonna learn from.”
Dominik Mysterio Recently Won NXT North American Title
“I had a chance to be in there with them, not once or twice but multiple times, working all the house shows with them, opening up SmackDown with them,” Mysterio said. “My experience was a little different, being able to learn from those top, top guys.”
“I don’t know if anything really shocked me about [the business],” he said. “I think more respect for what my dad did, and for what we do for a living. But I think… I grew up around this, man, this is all I’ve known for my whole life.
“I started traveling with my dad when I was four or five years old, I started appearing on TV when I was eight. So this is all I know, none of this is new to me. The only thing that’s new to me is my learning experiences that come from being in the ring, and I learn something new every day, so I’m very grateful and very blessed to be here.”
Dominik Mysterio is definitely one of the biggest assets of WWE at this moment as he is the biggest heel of the promotion today. Some fans even believe that he is the biggest villain in the world of professional wrestling right now. Recently he won the NXT North American championship and so far he had been a fighting champion.
