Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg Jesse James who is the former six times WWE Tag Team Champion recently talked about the concerns of “The Hitman” Bret Hart whether his biggest rival Shawn Michaels was better than him.
Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels had been two of the biggest Rivals of the 90s wrestling. The 90s rivalries that people might remember mostly are of Stone Cold Steve Austin vs the Rock, The Undertaker vs Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon. But these are the rivalries mostly from the Attitude Era. Before these epic rivalries, we had Hart vs Michaels.

Road Dogg Discusses Bret Hart’s Concerns Whether Shawn Michaels Was Better Than Him
This rivalry between this legendary duo went on for years. But it picked up its actual pace from their World Championship encounter at WrestleMania XIX. The duo met each other in a 60 minute Iron Man match and the match was for the WWE World Championship. It was won by Shawn Michaels and it also marked the beginning of the first World Championship reign of the Heart Break Kid.
The feud restarted in 1997 and at the Survivor Series pay per view event of the mentioned event, the Duo of phase each other in a no. 1 contender’s match for the WWE World title. The actual decision was to have Shawn Michaels win, but Bret wanted to win himself. At the end of the match Vince McMahon called for the bell, even though Bret did not lose.

This incident is famously known as the Montreal Screwjob and after the incident Hart Departed from WWE to join their Rival promotion WCW. Michaels and Hart had been Rivals in both on screen and off screen. Birthday finally married the hatched in the mid 2000s and it is said that the duo a has an excellent relationship between each other right now.
Road Dogg Jesse James who is the former six times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke on his “Oh…You Didn’t Know” Podcast where he talked about the concerns of “The Hitman” Bret Hart whether his biggest rival Shawn Michaels was better than him. He said;
“I just remember, we were both sitting in first class, I got up and put my bag up and I saw him and said, ‘Hey Bret how are you?’ He said, ‘Good man how are you?’ We just chit chat and before I turn to sit down he said, ‘Hey man, I heard you said Shawn Michaels was better than me.

“And I said, ‘Wait, what?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I read that you said Shawn Michaels was better than me.’ And I said, ‘I do think Shawn Michaels is better than you. I’m sorry that I feel that way but I love southern-style wrestling.’”
“Bret was great at wrestling, but I just didn’t think he was entertaining. I literally went back to my seat and sat down and thought, ‘This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever been a part of. I guess he read it on the dirt sheet or somewhere else. It was really a strange moment. He may not remember it, I may be telling it wrong but I remember him saying, ‘You said Shawn Michaels is better than me.’ I don’t know what to say to that.”
